Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia 2018, now in its 22nd year, welcomed a mixture of fashion, hair and makeup heavyweights and newcomers between the 13th & 19th May 2018, setting the scene for a week that stands alongside the most famous runways of international fashion events.
One of the newcomers for 2018 being TONI&GUY Australia. After being named the official hair sponsor for 2018 a first ever venture for the brand, the #tgtribe were in full force taking backstage by storm working on a total of 15 shows in addition to running Style Masterclasses with Dennis Langford, CEO of TONI&GUY Australia along with Katy Reeve the National Creative Director and Elizabeth Shedwick, Head of Technical Varder, a unique concept to bring backstage looks to consumers and enable them to recreate the same looks at home.
The #tgtribe were thrown in the fashion week deep end working on multiple shows and looks, each one uniquely created by Katy Reeve & Elizabeth to compliment the aesthetic of the collection ensuring the hair and clothes showcased became one.

The week kicked off with Australian sweethearts Camilla&Marc who were the opening show drawing in one of the biggest crowds coupled with a huge army of models, more than any other designer throughout the week. The brief was to create sleek, but lived in hair with texture and grip and models were selected during casting for their natural hair structure to assist in creating the look, both of these factors were a common theme throughout the fashion week and across all shows.

While some of the #tgtribe were working backstage, the rest were on-hand to create dry styling looks and hair touch ups front and centre with an activation at the Carriageworks hub known as the TONI&GUY style lounge and also an activation at Pitt Street Mall which offered guests a slice of VIP life, music by a live DJ and a photo booth to capture all the #tgtribe creations and fashion looks guests had assembled for the week. Influencers, personalities and media stopped by throughout the week, including our very own brand ambassador Roxy Jacenko who opted for a sleek low bun, Jessica Rowe from Channel 7, Amelia Strofield, Abby Gelmi of FOX Sports, Dr Zac Turner and Face of TONI&GUY duo Candice Rule & Hamish Mcrae.
