“Creating the new TONI&GUY LEGACY Collection with the Art Team has been one which is close to my heart as it celebrates 55 years of hair, fashion, heritage and education, as defined by my father. This campaign looks at our past, present and future through three distinct styles: Vintage, Contemporary and Creative, areas where TONI&GUY are unrivalled.”
Global Creative Director, Sacha Mascolo – Tarbuck
This year sees Sacha working again with photographer Jack Eames, stylist Sara Dunn and make-up artist Lan Nguyen. Under her creative direction, the team worked together to create a sumptuous set of images: five women’s cuts and colours, from the daring to the two men’s cuts and three editorial looks, styled and finished using the brand’s award-winning professional haircare range label.m.
More than ever, the look and feel of the images is luxuriant and high-end. The layering of clothes, many pieces which were from emerging designer ZHI Chen’s I-AM-CHEN A/W18 collection, worked well in delivering the impression of expensive splendor. The concept was also a nod to the creative lead’s love of fashion and the brand’s long-standing sponsorship of London Fashion Week. The make-up pallet for the most part was kept natural and acted as a highlighter for the models’ individual beauty.
The 2018/2019 anthology references the company’s heritage, celebrates its 600 strong global salon network and demonstrates its unified international education programme.
These notable TONI&GUY factors have been re-interpreted through a ‘hair trend cycle,’ which is made up of three parts:
Vintage, Contemporary and Creative.
• Vintage, once a creative concept, moves on to become Contemporary style or shade and due to its popularity gathers staying power to forever remain a classic.
• Contemporary cuts and colours are trend-led, wearable and modern techniques.
• Creative, an approach that is forward-thinking and is the ultimate canvass for self-expression, what a hairdresser strives for.
This year’s photographic compilation really celebrates the depth and breadth of styling and technical talents behind this multi-award-winning Superbrand. And, gives a glimpse into its creative ambition to remain on top.
